October, November, December 4th quarter preparing journal and to-do lists.
A big re-arrange for the family room, heavy stuff to move. Work on the cover frame for the lettuce garden to extend the season.
Plan a vacation if I decide to go. Curtains for the spare bedroom. Possibly a new mattress.
I haven't bought a lamp for power outages yet.

It's been rainy and cool and some laundry needs to dry in the dryer. We haven't used it since spring. It was time to check the dryer hose, the dryer hose indoor valve, and the upper dryer hose and vent outside. We made it through except the vent to the outside since it vents under the deck we'll look at that tomorrow. The inside of it feels fine, clean.
The dryer hose indoor valve lets heat and humidity into the basement during the winter which can be closed in summer. It had quite a bit of lint in it. We cleaned it out. While doing all that, the lower hose plastic (4 inch dryer hose) was cracking so time to replace it. They use worm connectors or they are called hose clamps or we can use zip ties. The upper hose doesn't have long for life so we decided to replace that too. The upper hose $11, the lower hose $8, the zip ties $8 (for 100). We're glad to have taken that apart and not worry about it being clogged up and starting a fire.
Hopefully we have enough warm days for doing laundry outside but it will be nice to have the dryer in working condition.

Even though I empty the dryer screen after every load of laundry, some lint still gets through. I was surprised to find some around the snap lid at the outside end of the hose. Yep, cheap insurance to tend to this regularly. There are brushes similar to the ones used to sweep chimneys, but I've never tried one.
