Respect.
Have respect.
NO politics.
Be kind.
We are updating the rules and policy to this thread.
**If you have a thread you are on that is under review, you may update it so it complies with the rules.**
We aren't going to entertain politics and there will be no area of 'news'.
There will be enough talk of news because we live with it and it affects us all in many ways within the daily conversations.
The pandemic situation is a health issue and that can go under health if you want to talk about the health aspects.
How it is affecting our daily lives can go under all our other categories depending on what it has done to our daily routines. (example: we haven't been able to get disinfecting wipes since the beginning, so we are hand washing and bleach/water cleaning, that's pandemic info that we'll obviously be talking about in procuring supplies)
I hope we can be about homesteading, prepping, cooking, health, live stock, gardens or farms, and sharing our lives and information. I hope these are enough topics but if you want another topic/category/board, please PM the info to the admins and we'll see if it can be added.
If posts are rude or disrespectful, please use the 'report post' function. There is a wheel on the right of each post, and posts can be reported if they are disrespectful.
We do not allow links with no explanation or description or concern. A post may be deleted because the post is JUST a link, or JUST a video, or JUST a click, with no personal explanation, no concern, no description, and no length of video. Quoting a link is not enough to make it acceptable. Posting what you think or how you feel are ways to make the link acceptable.
Please note this: if someone posts a request for a link, without explaining why they want it, do not answer this solicitation because in 'being helpful' you may break the rules and get warned. Each time we have a link, it must be connected in some way to what the post is concerned about. If it isn't about a concern or issue for the original poster, it isn't anyone's concern.
We do allow links (but not news or politics for the sake of either) in certain circumstances.
Circumstances:
If you post a picture from the internet, please give credit to the page it was found on, by linking it, under the picture, so that you are kind to the people that posted it in the first place.
If there is an issue you or we all are discussing and you have science or evidence then you can show a link, if it is a credible source. Often credible sources have references at the bottom of the page, studies, reputable colleges/universities or reputable professionals. Sometimes the credible sources have links within it to the resources they used to make the claims made.
We will not moderate every credible or non credible link, except if it is clearly just news for news sake, half truths, politics, or it has been reported by a member.
(end of circumstances with more to be added later)
There is no name calling, negative or hurtful names, or negative characterizations. You can make jokes but be a good comedian and don't do it to make someone else on the forum the butt of your joke. These are both forms of disrespect.
Additional rules not already mentioned in a few threads, will be added. We will also add rules as we encounter people trying to get 'around' the rules.
Harassing members will not be tolerated. This includes all forms of contact related to this site. Contact with members through their email addresses from here, through Personal Message or on the forum. First offense results in a warning, second offense results in banning from the forum.
Updates will take place as needed, check back often.
